Hah. So I was interestingly linked to http://www.queersighted.com/2007/04/25/was-rosie-too-fat-too-dyke-y-and-too-opinionated-for-a-woman/
, a blog which questions about Rosie O'Donnell being on the view. I am not a huge fan of Rosie, but I do respect the niche she's carved out for the gay community in terms of child adoption and the massive amounts of money she's donated to charities. I just can't help but chuckle at the fact that the response to the blog, en masse, has been 'she was too fat and a huge dyke, therefor she should have never been on tv', which just in turn basically proves what it is that Rosie is trying to fight against in mainstream society. I think she goes about the wrong way in a lot of publically aired arguments, but my distate for her never stems from the fact that she is a lesbian or overweight. Someone made a good point about the fact that noone uses Rush Limbaugh's weight against him(at least to any serious degree), or Bill O'reilly's appearance against him. I'm so tired of people telling females the only ways we can actually be outspoken critics of society and government is if we're blond, skinny and have had massive amounts of plastic surgery. Hate.
ps: I just remembered i forgot to do my laundry. hiss.
